Honey Baked Ham Monte Cristo

This recipe takes your basic ham and turkey sandwich and turns it into the perfect blend of sweet and salty deliciousness. This sandwich is a great weekend treat when you are craving something a little out of the ordinary.

Honey Baked Ham

2 Slices

Honey Baked Turkey

2 Slices

White Bread

2 Slices

Swiss

2 Slices

Yellow Mustard

1 TSP

Mayonnaise

1 TSP

Egg (beaten)

1

Whole Milk

1/2 CUP

Butter/Oil

2 TBL

Powdered Sugar (garnish)

1 Pinch

Blackberry Jam (garnish)

2 TBL

Salt

To Taste

Pepper

To Taste

Preparation

Begin by preheating the oven to 350 degrees.

Whisk the egg and milk together in a dish big enough to fit a sandwich. Season with salt and pepper.

Next, assemble your sandwich. Top the bottom slice of bread with yellow mustard. Lay 2 slices of ham on top of the mustard. Top the ham with the cheese. Top the cheese with 2 slices of turkey. Spread the mayonnaise on one side of the last slice of bread and place on top of turkey, mayo side down.

Gently compress sandwich with your hand.

Heat butter in skillet over medium heat.

Dip sandwich in egg and milk mixture and place in skillet. Cook the sandwich 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

Finish in the oven for 5-10 minutes or until cheese has melted.

Spinkle the sandwich with a pinch of powdered sugar and serve with a side of blackberry jelly.
