HONEY BAKED HAM AND JAM SANDWICH
This sandwich was inspired by a childhood snack my mother would make. When we were being especially good, or maybe as a way to get us to sit still for a few moments (I can’t exactly remember), my mom would make us ham rollups. I bet several of you are already nodding your heads. Nothing complicated here, simply a slice of ham, topped with a schmear of cream cheese, rolled up and sliced into bite-sized pieces. The saltiness of the ham and the creaminess of the cheese were the perfect combination. This is a grown-up sandwich version of that same combination.
Sliced Honey Baked Ham
Hot Pepper Jelly
Whipped Cream Cheese
Cut your loaf horizontally from end to end, as you would a submarine sandwich.
Spread hot pepper jelly on top of bottom half of loaf.
Top with slices of Honey Baked Ham.
Top ham with a big handful of arugula.
Spread 2-4 tablespoons of cream cheese on bottom of top half of loaf and place on top of arugula.
Cut into segments and serve or eat the entire thing yourself!
